Digital Deluge
What % of your day do you spend with your phone, tablet, computer or TV?
Tip 1: Schedule at least 30 minutes every day where there is no such electronic device with you. A digital free time.
Digital Distraction
How often, during one day, do you hear (and are distracted by) various pings going off for things such as Likes, Mail, new messages?
Tip 2: Turn off notifications on all your devices, for as many applications as possible.
Tip 3: Do not have your phone anywhere near the table when you are eating (alone or with others).
Digital Dementia
When was the last time you actually remembered a historical fact you learned in school, or remembered somebody’s email address or phone number?
Tip 4: Exercise your brain by remembering the phone number of someone you contact often. Or practice remembering a key password or code, rather than autofill or copy/paste.
Digital Deduction
When was the last time you decided to look at the pros and cons of an article in the news?
Tip 5: Think of a decision you need to make soon. Schedule device-free time to work on that decision.
